If you are doing a 5.1 speaker configuration, in the rear of the receiver, those speakers would be connected to the Surround terminals. However, if you are doing a 7.1 then you would connect those into the Surround Back speaker terminals. If you are doing the 7.1 configuration and you are in the correct terminals in the rear then you can begin with testing within the menu of the receiver.
Go into the setup menu of your receiver. Select Speaker configuration then to Speaker setting. Select the correct speaker configuration that you are using: 5.1 or 7.1.
Then select Level calibration to go through speaker to speaker to make sure are getting sound out of the correct speakers.
If you're able to get a test tone from each speaker change the listening mode to all channel stereo as that will allow each speaker to play the same audio.

Yes, the SP-T22A-LR speakers are compatible with the Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver. I am very familiar with the Pioneer SP-FS52 speakers and think that your TX-8020 will be able to drive them. Regarding the settings on the receiver, in your case if you are just connecting the one set of speakers I would leave the receiver set to its factory default setting of 6 ohms. You would only need to set it to 4 ohms if you are connecting more than one set because the impedance would drop.

The working group (HDMI.org) that sets HDMI specifications has not set a maximum cable length. Instead they require that approved HDMI cables meet a required performance standard. At this time it is expected that conventional, reasonably priced copper cables up to approximately 16.5 feet in length can meet the required performance standards. HDMI will usually work with 5 meter (or less) cables, longer ones can just add to the difficulty. Yes and NO - While it is OK to hook up a speaker selector to connect multiple pairs of speakers to the 2 channels that power Zone 2, it is NOT ok to run them at the same time. We advise against the use of a speaker selector as in most cases, if the speakers are connected they WILL be used simultaneously. If you have multiple pairs of speakers we recommend the use of a multi-channel distribution amplifier. This way you have enough channels of amplification to safely power the speakers so they can ALL be used simultaneously without damaging the amp. Even if the speaker selector has impedance matching, you still cannot run more than 2 speakers (1 pair) from the Zone 2 terminals without causing damage to the AV/Receiver (remember - you can't drive more than one car with one engine!).

Yes, the SP-T22A-LR speakers are compatible with the Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver. Although the TX-NR656 is capable of putting out more power than the SP-T22A-LR’s 80 watt maximum input rating, assuming that you are using the speakers as height channels for Dolby Atmos or DTS:X tracks it is highly unlikely they would see the full rated power of the receiver. If you are doing a 5.1 speaker configuration, in the rear of the receiver, those speakers would be connected to the Surround terminals. However, if you are doing a 7.1 then you would connect those into the Surround Back speaker terminals. If you are doing the 7.1 configuration and you are in the correct terminals in the rear then you can begin with testing within the menu of the receiver.
Go into the setup menu of your receiver. Select Speaker configuration then to Speaker setting. Select the correct speaker configuration that you are using: 5.1 or 7.1.
Then select Level calibration to go through speaker to speaker to make sure are getting sound out of the correct speakers.
If you're able to get a test tone from each speaker change the listening mode to all channel stereo as that will allow each speaker to play the same audio.

After careful investigation of the DTS:X audio concern associated with Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and DTS confirmed the technical problem is not specific to the discs. If you are doing a 5.1 speaker configuration, in the rear of the receiver, those speakers would be connected to the Surround terminals. However, if you are doing a 7.1 then you would connect those into the Surround Back speaker terminals. If you are doing the 7.1 configuration and you are in the correct terminals in the rear then you can begin with testing within the menu of the receiver.
Go into the setup menu of your receiver. Select Speaker configuration then to Speaker setting. Select the correct speaker configuration that you are using: 5.1 or 7.1.
Then select Level calibration to go through speaker to speaker to make sure are getting sound out of the correct speakers.
If you're able to get a test tone from each speaker change the listening mode to all channel stereo as that will allow each speaker to play the same audio.

However, if you are doing a 7.1 then you would connect those into the Surround Back speaker terminals. If you are doing the 7.1 configuration and you are in the correct terminals in the rear then you can begin with testing within the menu of the receiver.
Go into the setup menu of your receiver. Select Speaker configuration then to Speaker setting. Select the correct speaker configuration that you are using: 5.1 or 7.1.
Then select Level calibration to go through speaker to speaker to make sure are getting sound out of the correct speakers.
If you're able to get a test tone from each speaker change the listening mode to all channel stereo as that will allow each speaker to play the same audio.

There were a limited number of FlareConnect enabled AVR's that require a hardware modification in order for this feature to become available. If you have the wireless speaker NCP-302 and wish to stream music wirelessly from any source that's connected via analog cables, you will need to have this modification done at our designated service center (cannot be performed at local or regional locations). Please contact Onkyo Parts and Service @ 201-785-2600 option 4 so we can arrange this modification for you.
Models that require this update are as follows: TX-NR656 TXNR757, HTS7800/HTR695, TX-RZ610.
